A short walk of approx 100yds, from Canal side there is a garage, which also sells gas, cigarettes, newspapers, and a variety of food stuffs.
The famous Staircase Locks is only a short walk away providing great interest for the canal enthusiasts.
The Lockside stores and café can be found adjacent to the last set of locks.  
The Horse and Jockey pub is of similar distance and provides a full and varied menu.
For the more energetic the Willey Moore Lock Tavern is situated adjacent to the Llangollen Canal and is approx half an hour walk away, offering a variety of ales and full menu.

Whitchurch

The historic Market town of Whitchurch is only two miles away. Whitchurch is famous for Cheese and Clocks. It has the title of “Home of Tower Clocks”. The firm JB Joyce has been making quality timepieces since 1690, examples of their work can be found throughout the world. The Heritage centre also allows visitors to see examples of JB Joyce’s work locally.
The Heritage centre is also the host of the Tourist information Centre which can be located on St Mary’s Street.
Whitchurch and surrounding areas have a number of local cheese makers providing the famous favorites, Cheshire Cheese and Shropshire Blue plus many others.
Pubs and eating houses can be found locally in Whitchurch , along with heated swimming pool, tennis courts and Hill Valley Golf Course.
